Welcome to our blog!
Hello Family and Friends!
Blogging is new to us (or at least to me, Bethany) so please bear with me as I learn how to do this. As many of you know, we have begun the exciting journey of adoption. Some of our friends who have gone through the process suggested that we create a blog to keep everyone updated. So here it goes.....
I guess it really started a long time ago when Chris and I married. We knew we wanted to be parents. We talked about having biological children or the possibility of adopting. By God's will and grace we will be parents to both. We have been blessed to have two amazing biological children who bring us joy each day.
As I look at them and pray for them I am humbled by the fact that God has trusted them to our care. I am also humbled by the fact that how much I love them is nothing compared to how much the Lord loves them....how much the Lord loves me. It is truly an unspeakable gift. Of course along with the joy comes challenge. When I have to remind them ever so patiently about something or I have to stop the quibbling, they challenge me to "train (them) in the way (they) should go" ( Proverbs 22:6). Unfortunately, I'm not always so patient with a calm and steady voice. Everyday reminds me how much I need my Savior because in my own prideful strength I would not be "train(ing) them in the way they should go." Oh the grace of God! And to think He has called us to parent others, who for whatever reason, are orphaned.
God has set before us this journey, and we ask you for your prayers along the way for us as parents, for Alexandra and Hunter with the changes they'll face and for the children we believe are waiting for us-- for safety and love while they wait. One day we hope you will rejoice with us as we are able to bring our children home! Thanks for your prayers!
God Bless!
Bethany
